Hot Air System
Some systems (typically older systems) heat up air, and circulate it around a radiator circuit, rather than heat up water. The ability to identify and repair hot air systems is a basic component of the Gas Safe Register qualification, but in many cases, the engineer will have skimmed over this, and focused purely on water-fed systems. In cases like this, the some engineers will, rather than assess the fault, simply condemn the boiler because it’s easier than admitting that he’s not able to carry out a repair that his qualification says he should be capable of.
